This1990s vintage cocktail suit from Christian Ruperto is absolutely stunning. The two-tone red fabric comprises three layers: an interior solid red fabric, a second fabric in two shades of red woven with a bit of gold lurex and covered in little gold paillettes (flat sequins), and a third layer of an almost invisible red chiffon. All three layers are channel quilted together. All of the edges of the jacket and the skirt hem are finished with gold piping. The jacket closes with eight fancy gold buttons, and it has two buttoned flap pockets. The pencil skirt has darts at the waist and a side zipper. The exemplary quality of this suit is also apparent on the interior: all of the cut fabric edges are cased to prevent raveling, the armholes are reinforced, and the seam allowances are particularly generous. No fabric label is present, but as far as I can tell, the fabrics are silk (which is also the case with other garments in our collection by this designer), or perhaps silk blends. No size label, but sizing charts indicate that it is about a modern size 8-10. Please refer to the measurements for the best quidance regarding actual size.
