Italian paisley knit shirt from Averardo Bessi is a very lightweight wool and silk blend (70/30), originally sold by the New York boutique, Delle Celle. Labeled size IT44; measures like a size 6-8, or Medium. This top is a button down style with buttoned cuffs. Believed to date from the 1990s-2000s. Currently Averardo Bessi button down cotton shirts are retailing for $515, so the wool and silk shirts probably cost more, but I couldn't find comparables online to confirm current pricing.
Sellers Notes: Founded in 1950, the Averardo Bessi label introduced his famously printed fabrics that were reminiscent of Emilio Pucci, one of his contemporaries, in 1966 (some sources state that Bessi was in fact a fabric designer for Pucci). Bessi designs still have a very loyal following among European and American women, and his vintage pieces are highly collectible. Established in 1974 in New York City, the Delle Celle boutique features many respected brands of Italian-fabricated women's clothing.
