Such a lovely coat!
Brand: Tissavel of France. A heritage brand from the 1950s, Tissavel pioneered a way of making faux fur that looks and feels almost exactly like the real thing.
Era: likely 1980s
Size: no sizing tags, but approximately a women's L (that's vintage sizing; please see measurements below for most accurate fit).
Features:
- soft, light-toned faux fur made of acrylic pile.
Depending on the lighting, the color appears light beige or pale honey.
- an acetate-cotton blend lining in a rich, burgundy shade (the tags related to materials have been removed, so I'm basing this on tags from similar Tissavel vintage coats).
- slight A-frame style
- collar that can lay flat or be pulled up for extra warmth
- two side pockets
- zipper closure
MEASUREMENTS
(* flat)
20" underarm*
22" hem width*
30" length
22.5" sleeve
SPECIAL NOTES
- Tissavel faux fur coats should be professionally cleaned in the same way as real fur.
CONDITION
Overall, very good vintage condition with plenty of life in it. Please see photos and read further details below.
Exterior: small spot of wear on the left shoulder (probably from the friction of a shoulder bag or crossbody purse).
Interior: the lining has been beautifully maintained over the years. Almost all of the original tags have been removed, except the brand label, which has loosened on one side. Also, "15" is written on the inside collar.
