These earrings add a touch of whimsy to anything. Made by famed Parisian jeweler Jacky de G in the 1980s, they feature a heart-shaped sun motif— the brushed gold border looks like sun rays. The heart-shaped center is set with pearls and stones; the black resin they are set in really allows the jewels to pop and sparkle to their full potential. Statement earrings and jewelry defined the style of the 1980s; French jewelry of this period was influenced by the runways of the big couturiers in a way we no longer see. The best jewelers worked for the big houses like Jean-Paul Gaultier, Guy Laroche, Givenchy, Dior, Chanel, Christian Lacroix and among them was the jeweler known as Jacky de G. She produced jewelry for her own label (which is signed as such) as well as for these houses, so her designs and sensibility having an immeasurable influence. Her jewelry was only produced for a short period, which makes it highly sought-after and collectable. These earrings are signed Jacky de G / Made in France. Measures about 4 cm long, and finished with a clip-on back.
Great vintage condition; there is one spot on one of the earrings where the outer gold textured part has slightly chipped, but it feels like part of the design when worn/is something that you wouldn't notice unless looking because it blends in with the metal's texture.
