80's Sequin Embellished Dress with Feathers$692.00
This absolutely breathtaking dress was created in the 1980s by Munich-based haute couture designer Peter Keppler and will stop anyone dead in their tracks. It's the epitome of 80's camp. The couture-level craftsmanship blew me away: it is constructed entirely of gold paillettes, sewn by hand with invisible thread so that all you see is mega-watt shine. Over top is a lattice overlay of black daisy embroidery. At the bottom hem, there is a tier of feathers (I believe they are rooster feathers) which cascade outward and down like a waterfall— the volume creates a stark contrast to the body-conscious nature of the dress, which is entirely form-fitting and meant to fit like a glove. The feathers are a beautiful iridescent black, with traces of green and blue as they catch the light. The dress has small shoulder pads, which subtly balance out the fitted silhouette. It is fully lined on the interior with mesh for comfort, so that the embroidery isn't against the skin, and closes in the back with a hidden zipper and hook/eye closure. There is a minimal stretch to the fabric.
Measurements: in my opinion, this will best fit a US size 00, 0, 2, or small 4. It is modeled on someone 5'7" so it will be less short on someone of average height or below.
Chest: 32"
Waist: 28"
Hips: 33" (stretches a bit)
Sleeves: 21"
Length: 31. 5"
Great vintage condition. There has been some reinforcement where the feathers attach.
