This Diane Freis dress combines 2 patterned fabrics, as was often the case with her designs: a floral- and fruit-printed georgette in orchid purple, fuchsia pink, red, and green, and a busier, more intensely pink floral print fabric on the portrait collar and waist panel. Scattered sequins in red, fuchsia, and green add a bit of sparkle! The dress fit is blousy through the bodice and sleeves, and gathered at the wide waist panel. The skirt is slightly flared from waist to hem, with narrow inverted pleats all around it. The shirred waistband has elastic gathering it into a “puckered” texture. The full, elbow-length sleeves are also elasticized at the hem. The v-neckline has a fabric flower, narrow fabric ties trimmed with plastic beads, and a wide, ruffled collar, draped over large shoulder pads. The dress pulls over the head, with no zipper or other fastenings except the neckline ties. This fun Diane Freis 80s dress is excellent condition.
