Fabulous Berek sweater in a Spanish cultural theme! Berek is the original novelty sweater, very collectible. All are hand-knit out of 100% cotton yarn. Whimsical and fun, these sweaters are "art to wear" and make you feel happy!
This sweater has a black background upon which you find multi-colored flowers, a matador and his cape on the front, and fantastic flamenco dancers on the back. Carved shiny black buttons contrast nicely on the green placket. Each design has a copyright. This one is from 1989 and designed by Marta D. A unique sweater you will love wearing! No flaws to note.
From the Vintage Fashion Guild Label Resource -
"BEREK sweaters were introduced in 1977 by Jack Zyman. ... His “art-to-wear” garments became the first hand-knit novelty statement sweaters introduced to the mass market and quickly gained a loyal following of fashionistas who enjoyed collecting the different themes."
