Such a great piece from St. John’s for Neiman Marcus. This 1980s knit sweater/top has a peplum waist and is ribbed with a red and black check pattern. Crew neck with four button closure at the top front. Shoulder pads. No size or fabric tag, but all St. John's santana knits are a wool and rayon blend. In good vintage condition, although on the outer side of each sleeve as well as in two places that I can see on the back of the top, it appears that a binding seam has come loose, exposing the knitting inside. I don't know that I'm describing it that well, and I didn't see it at first because in most parts you have to gently tug on it to even see it, but please see photo 7. This is the right sleeve as it appears naturally. Photo 8 shows it gently separated, and photo 9 shows an arm in the sleeve (it doesn't seem to show up this way). Photo 10 shows the left sleeve naturally, then photo 11 shows it gently tugged so you can see the open knitting I'm referring to, and photo 12 shows the sleeve with an arm in it - it doesn't show up. So I don't know what's happening, but I have priced the sweater accordingly. The below approximate flat lay measurements indicate that this would best fit an XS. Please compare the measurements to a top that fits you well to ensure proper fit!
Chest from pit to pit: 16”
Shoulder width: 14”
Length: 23”
Sleeve length: 23.5
