Catherine Ogust for Penthouse Gallery
80s Catherine Ogust Caftan Dress One Size$165.00
Highly collectible 1980s' caftan by Catherine Ogust for Penthouse Gallery, a label. Designed as loungewear, these loose-fitting tunic dresses can be worn to the beach, or, when accessorized up, to the office or around town. This has a band collar; small shoulder pads; five round woven, knotted buttons; and on-seam hip pockets. The 3/4 sleeves can be cuffed up or left down. Made of a woven, soft cotton or cotton blend with a subtly lustrous finish--much like a polished cotton. In fabulous condition.
NOTES: Sash shown not included. The black throughout is solid and rich, but some photos are lightened slightly to show detail.
SIZE: No label; generally considered "one size fits all," but I'd put this at a best fit for a modern 6 through 14/16. Meant to fit quite loosely. But don't go by my estimate--use the garment dimensions and yours to determine fit. We suggest you measure a similar garment you own to determine fit. There's no stretch to the fabric, so leave fit ease.
* Bust: 43"
* Waist: 43"
* Hip: 47"
Shoulder to Shoulder: 17"
Length: 41 1/2" from top of shoulder
* Measured flat on outside and doubled unless otherwise stated.
CONDITION: Near mint overall. The label shows wear, but aside from that, I see no flaws or other signs of wear. There's a thread's width of white on the bodice (see photo) where the dye didn't take. This is inherent in the fiber and is not a defect. These pieces, as they say, "wear like iron."
