The only thing cooler than this earring is the fact that there is only one of them! HOW chic?! Wear them with just a tiny little stud or gold huggie in the other ear. These earrings feature a brushed gold surface, textured with swirling, and set with multicolor stones. The drop provides movement, and added drama. Made by famed Parisian jeweler Jacky de G in the 1980s, they feature a brushed gold metal in a Celtic-knot formation, with bezel-set faceted stones reminiscent of moonstone, reflecting brilliant sparkle with every movement. Statement earrings and jewelry defined the style of the 1980s; French jewelry of this period was influenced by the runways of the big couturiers in a way we no longer see. The best jewelers worked for the big houses like Jean-Paul Gaultier, Guy Laroche, Givenchy, Dior, Chanel, Christian Lacroix and among them was the jeweler known as Jacky de G. She produced jewelry for her own label (which is signed as such) as well as for these houses, so her designs and sensibility having an immeasurable influence. Her jewelry was only produced for a short period in the 1980s, which makes it highly sought-after and collectable. These earrings are signed Jacky de G / Made in France. Measures about 6.5 cm total length x about 3 cm at widest point, and finished with a clip-on back.
Great vintage condition. There is slight wear to the gold which is minor and it's on the side (toward the back, not on the front face of the earring) so it's even less noticeable.
