RARE Circa 80's J PETERMAN MUMU Kaftan

This is a Unique and Rare J Peterman Mumu. It has a V Neck, is Ankle Length, and has Beautiful Animal and Fish Scenes. The Colors in this Kaftan are Beautiful. They are Lilac, Rose, Yellow, Red, Green, Gold (that has a shine), and White. The Animals are Cats and Elephants. There are Fish and Fishing Scenes. This could be Worn Open or Belted.

A little History of the J Peterman Company - His Company was Founded in 1987. He and his Partner started the Company by taking out a Small Ad in the New Yorker Featuring a Horseman's Duster Coat. They Sold 70 coats through that Ad. They then went into the Catalog Business. The Way they Advertised their Items was totally different in that the Items were not Photographs, but Sketches with very Descriptive Copy. These Descriptions Helped their customers think about a World of Travel, Romance, and Adventure. The Items listed were most often items that You would not find in the normal department stores or specialty stores.
