80s Gianni Versace Silk Scarf Black and White Stripe Geometrical and Floral Print Border$95.00
Gianni Versace was an Italian fashion designer best known for his daring fashions and glamorous lifestyle. He also has been credited with turning the fashion world into the high-powered, celebrity-besotted industry it remains to the present day.
Versace worked for a number of top Italian designers before starting his own company in 1978 and continued to design throughout the 80’s and 90’s. Sadly, he was tragically gunned down on July 15, 1997. At the time of his death, many believed that his 25-year career was at a peak.
Versace’s work was honored by a posthumous retrospective held from December 1997 to March 1998 at the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
This signed, 33” x 34” silk scarf is a mix of black and white stripes set off in true Versace style with colorful floral and Geometrical print accents (red, orange, blue, green, purple) and nicely framed with a rolled white edge. The scarf is in excellent condition
