There was no way to walk past this unique gem! Though I had never heard of Roberto Vascon, once I read up on him, I was really smitten with him as a designer and as a human being. His is the true American Dream story; moved from Brazil penniless and was living on a bench in Central Park when he had a dream about handbags. He gathered aluminum cans and traded them in to buy a sewing machine and some material scraps to make the purses of his dreams. While he was selling them from his Central Park bench, the fashion editor for the New York Times bought them all in order to learn his story, which she then published in the paper. A star was born! There's more to the story, but I'll stop here because that's where this fabulous and funky purse comes in. It is sort of medium in actual size, but probably holds what a small purse would due to the shape. The strap is nice and long to wear as a shoulder or crossbody style, and it has a funky hand painted flap of periwinkle, fuchsia, tan, and turquoise on top of a textured black leather. I can absolutely guarantee that you will not see this bag on another single person!!

~CONDITION:

Excellent vintage condition. There are no stains, popped stitches, or worn applied finish. The tippy bottom is not as rigid as it probably was when it was purchased, but you really don't even notice it unless you are looking for it. I went ahead and cleaned the purse inside and out and gave it a nice conditioning too in preparation for its next stop in life.
