This Diane Freis dress combines 2 patterned fabrics, as was often the case with her designs: a floral- and swirl-printed georgette in tan and white shadow stripes with aqua and pink flowers, and a contrasting tan and black polka dot print fabric on the portrait collar and waist panel. Scattered sequins in black, silver, copper, pink, and green add a bit of sparkle! The dress fit is blousy through the bodice and sleeves, and gathered at the waist. The skirt is slightly flared from waist to hem, with narrow inverted pleats all around it. The wide waistband has elastic shirring gathering it into a “puckered” texture. The full, elbow-length sleeves are also elasticized at the hem. The v-neckline has a fabric flower, narrow fabric ties trimmed with plastic beads, and a wide, ruffled collar, draped over the large shoulder pads. The dress pulls over the head, with no zipper or other fastenings except the neckline ties. This fun Diane Freis 80s dress is in near excellent condition, with a very of its few sequins missing, unlikely to be noticed when it is worn.
