Krizia ~ Mariuccia Mandelli
80s Blue Silk Sailor Button Midi Straight Pencil Skirt$80.00
NAVY BLUE SILK SAILOR BUTTON PENCIL SKIRT by KRIZIA MARIUCCIA MANDELLI
Krizia was founded in 1954 by Mariuccia Mandelli. During the 1950s and early 1960s Krizia produced mainly dresses and separates. In 1967 they launched a line of knitwear that became very successful and grew through the 1970s and 1980s to become one of the leaders of the Italian fashion world. Mandelli is credited with with introducing the high fashion world to "hot pants" (very short micro shorts) in 1971.
Mandelli also had a big impact on future talents. Karl Lagerfeld, Alber Elbaz, and Giambattista Valli were among those who spent their early careers at the Kritzia house. The Krizia label continues today as a creative and versatile luxury. Of late, young designers including J.W. Anderson have channeled her '80s power vibe. Incidentally, there is a Philippines-based label that carries the same name, "Krizia Shop." They make fast, cheap, trendy fashion. This skirt is not that.
