Handsome shirt-waist dress from Mila Schon (whose brand was recently "re-booted" with a runway show in Milan) features a pleated collar in ivory silk charmeuse and a wide black patent belt with white contrast stitching. The black crepe fabric is 98% wool with a white pinstripe. The notched collar is covered with a pleated collar that is loosely tacked onto the dress. We cannot be sure that this second collar is original to the dress, but it adds a nice touch to the tailored design. The dress closes with buttons up the front and has small shoulder pads; the skirt has slash pockets and a couple of small pleats on each side of the waist. We have not been able to date the dress with any certainty - it could be anywhere from the 1960s to the early 1980s. Labeled Italian size 40, which usually corresponds to US size 4. Please refer to the measurements for additional guidance regarding size.
