Designer Oleg Cassini was a Hollywood costume designer in the 30s, after dating numerous movie stars, he married the incomparable Gene Tierney, one of the most glamorous beauties of all time. He left his lucrative business to serve in the U. S. Army during World War II, returning to design clothing for film, television and theatre until he opened his own design house in 1950 and he became "The" designer for First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy. Cassini made the turtleneck, the Nehru jacket, and colored dress shirts, a standard "go to" for men.
