Absolutely chic 1980's evening jumpsuit by Ala Carte. LOVE this brand. They did some great pieces in the 70's and 80's! I am so into a jumpsuit for evening and/or formal events. This one is killer. Black satin with a deep V wrap front bodice. It ties inside at the waist and there is a snap on the outside at the waist. There are thin belt loops but no belt is present. Obviously the star of this show is the shimmering silvery-gray organza dramatic ruffled halter neckline. There are plastic wires sewn-in to the ruffles to give them shape and volume. The ruffles swirl over the neck, down the arms and all across the backless bodice. There is a black faceted button and a hook and eye at the top of the ruffle that closes at the back of the neck. Small pleats at the waist and a slim slightly tapered to the ankle leg. There is a bit of elastic at the waist as well. Beautifully tailored and just the right length to show off a great shoe. Unlined but opaque. Zipper at the front.
