Drawing inspiration from a popular late 50’s-early 60’s sweater design, this 1980’s version is exceptionally well done. The fabric content (lambswool, angora, and nylon) is spot on, as is the exquisite gold sequin and bead design, the dimensional sequin flowers definitely an outstanding touch. Carrying the flowers also to the back of the sweater just another add to the fine details. Fully lined with a black silky fabric, including the sleeves (not something usually done in the earlier versions), the triple row of sequins along the neck, front, bottom and wrists make for a nice frame for this 5-button cardigan. Whether you wear it with evening wear, or to dress-up a pair of jeans, this garment is sure to make a statement.
