A formal gown that also works beautifully as a caftan, by design house Vinnie. Also nice for modest evening wear.

This long gown is soooooo fabulous! The beadwork is incredible, with emerald green and bright gold bugle beads against a teal silk base. This belonged to a fancy socialite who clearly loved her beads--she had dozens of gorgeous gowns covered in them. Clothes by designer Vinnie hung alongside Judith Ann Creations.

Just take a moment to soak it all in. Note the slight asymmetry to the front, where the beading comes to a flattering point slightly to the side of the center waist. And all that fabulous meandering beading on the skirt!

Color is truest in the pictures out of the sun (the ones in which the beads aren't glittering). It is a rich teal, like the wings of a teal duck. The outer fabric is silk; the lining is rayon.

Closure is with a zipper up the back. The sleeves have snaps. And there are shoulder pads that you can remove if you like.

It's a very wearable loose style in which the beading does the work for you. And condition is very good. I find only two or three loose threads, with two beads missing at the Band - collar (pictured), a tiny bit of faint spotting above the beadwork on the bodice--almost impossible to see--and some wear / slight discoloration inside the collar and under the arms (pictured, does not show when worn). There is a finger-sized hole in the skirt, about ten inches from the hem; you can see it in the skirt photo.

But those flaws are really hard to find, and you are going to be very happy with the way this dress presents--she looks almost perfect.
