Dramatic evening dress from Carol Peretz features a vividly colorful velvet shell with an attached navy blue chiffon cape. The base fabric of the dress is very dark blue crushed velvet that is hand-painted in bright shades of red, pink, teal, and green. The cape attaches to the dress at the center neckline and forms a very deep swag in back. The outer velvet fabric is a rayon and silk blend (65/35), the cape is silk chiffon, and the blue lining is polyester. Closure is with a back zipper. Labeled size 4.

After first listing this dress, I actually received a generous message from Carol Peretz giving me some great information about this fabulous dress to share with you:

"Hi!!! I am Carol Peretz...I designed and made this dress from a spectacular hand-painted silk/viscose chiffon velvet. This is a hand-cut and hand painted silk and viscose pane velvet, made in France. I try to use true velours coupes fabrics when possible, as they are couture level textiles, and not so readily available. The chiffon cape is pure silk. This style dates to 1992
and sold for about $2500."
