This magnificent necklace puts your basic choker on steroids. Each bead is 1.25 inches long and an inch wide--and all glass, so the facets sparkle in the light. It was made in the 1980s, probably for wearing to work or with a cocktail dress, but the possibilities now are so big--great for goth looks, steampunk, Lolita, even dark academe ...

The fact that it's all glass gives it some weight. The beads are drilled through the center, so they don't always want to lie flat unless you fasten it snugly at the base of your throat--in other words, you probably don't want to wear this one loose or make it longer.
