Escada by Margaretha Ley 1980s silk floral dress with 80s shoulders, sewn in shoulder pads, 3/4 length sleeves, a sewn in waist band and two side pockets with an extra layer of fabric in the front that creates a ruffle and the feel of a wrap skirt although it's not. The front of the dress and the sleeves have gold button closures that can be unbuttoned. There is a side zipper which also has two gold button closures just above it. The top is blouson but the waist band and lower portion of the dress are cut slim. This is a European 1980s Size 40, which is equivalent to a US Size 10. However, please note that in the 1980s a 10 was smaller than it is now. This dress is best for someone who wears a contemporary Size 6 or even smaller. As noted, the waist and hips are very narrow - waist is 30" and hips are 36". The only sign of wear is that some of the buttons are slightly loose, although none are in danger of falling off. There is a sewn-in lining from the waist down - shown in the images. The dress is 42" long from the top of the shoulder to the hem, so hits below the knee or mid-calf depending on height.
