80’s Black Velvet Coat

This is a beautiful 40s style black velvet swing coat. Made in Canada in the 1980s.

The fabric is a soft rich medium weight cotton velvet that is worked into a stunning coat with a shawl collar and wrist-length raglan style sleeves with generous 3" wide fold-up cuffs.

There are shoulder pads between the coat and lining. These are the molded type of pads which are rounded to fit the shoulders beautifully to create a lovely shoulder line.

Diagonal hip level pockets with self-fabric facings.

The coat is fully lined with soft black satin (probably acetate)

Open front clutch coat with no zippers or buttons.

DESIGNER LABEL: JS Collections - Made in Canada

SIZING: Tagged a vintage size Medium. However, based on the measurements below, I'd say this would best fit a modern size Large to Extra Large depending on how you like your fit. If worn by a Medium, this would be a very oversized fit.

Please note this coat is shown on my size Medium mannequin and will fall much better on the properly sized body.
