This 1980s cocktail dress has a lot going on. The base layer is an unlined polyester sheath with ruched puff sleeves and shoulder pads to hold the sleeves up and out. On top of that, there is an overlay of Issey Miyake-style pleats that wrap and tie at the hip. There is a stain on the front of the dress - not that visible when worn because of the sheen of the fabric and the pleats, and it may be able to be removed with machine or hand washing and TLC. The stain is visible in the images, and the dress is priced low to reflect the "as is" condition. It's listed on the tag as a Size 16, but please note a 1980s Size 16 is smaller than contemporary sizing. The brand is Calhoun but the label is sewn in upside down. Measured flat, the neck opening is 14" and the shoulder to shoulder measurement is 17. 5". The length of the dress from shoulder to hem is 44". The flat measurement of the underneath sheath is 21" wide so it would accommodate up to a 42" waist and hips. The outer pleated overlay can be tied however loose or tight you want so can accommodate multiple sizes.
