Soft, steel-grey suede with darker grey snakeskin trim are combined on this late 1970s shoulder bag or clutch. The snakeskin trims the edge of the front envelope flap that snaps closed underneath. The slightly gathered body of the bag meets a flat “yoke” under the envelope flap. The skinny shoulder strap is grey leather, to match the line of grey leather piping trimming the sides and bottom edge of the bag. The shoulder strap has been doubled and then tied, but it could also be tied to the internal metal loops separately at each end, to make a longer, cross-body-length strap. Tuck the strap inside to carry it as a clutch handbag. The purse is lined with black rayon faille, including one zipped and one slip pocket. This chic, perfect-for-fall 1970s bag is in excellent condition.
