I measure outer by placing boot on top of a cloth tape or yard stick, both are firm against a wall and from wall to center tip of front of boot.

sizes are not always contemporary. I do not use tagged sizes but only measurements as a mean to ensure your fit. Take a pair of shoes or boots you love with as close to same heel height and compare measurements is best to get great fit.

Sized on leather sole is EU 38 which would convert to an apx US 7-7. 5 based on conversion chart on https://shopthrilling. com/collections/bettybootsvintage but the inch to shoe size on https://shopthrilling. com/collections/bettybootsvintage puts the 9. 25 ( 9 4/16) as a 7 so I would probably err on the smaller size 7. You can always add a thicker sock but cannot cut off part of your foot LOL.

Length with tape from toe to heel on size is only an approximate but is approximately 10. 5"
