70's Southwest Style Fish Necklace

This necklace is large and gaudy. It is an antiqued silver metal. The thunder bird and doll charms are hinged above the 3. 5 inch fishes body. All of these pieces are cast, have great detail and include a tiny faux turquoise bead. The doll dangles very freely making this an animated piece! The entire pendant hangs to 4 inches. The light weight cable chain is 24 inches long. The fold spring clasp is original to the necklace and works well.

There are no marks or manufacturer name on this piece.

NecromanceNola sells this type of vintage necklace often since it was well made, usually plated multiple times and had unique design. The bright gold tone plating is still in excellent condition.

This metal necklace is circa 1975 and made by a high end costume jewelry maker of the time. The first half of the 20th century was the heyday for well made costume jewelry sold from fine department stores to Woolworth, usually made in Europe or the United States, although this one may be an Avon necklace. The manufacture and quality of costume jewelry deteriorated in the latter part of the century making this era the last with enduring products.
