70s Sculptured Asymmetrical Straw And Raffia Fedora

Great summer hat, ca. 1970s. Unusual, with asymmetrical sculptured crown and three different straw weaves. Set on a stiffened net base, the crown is constructed of fine, tightly woven straw in a criss-cross pattern and draped with "ropes" of raffia. The upturned brim is the typical horizontally woven fine straw and has a stiffened band around the top to help keep the shape. A cluster of white plastic beads adorns the wide (about 2") grosgrain ribbon and bow, which are also trimmed with straw.

No maker's label, but this is a well-designed, quality hat.

SIZE: Not labeled. Measures approx. 21 1/4″ around at the petersham ribbon. I take a 22" hat, and this fits me, due to the bit of stretch at the circumference. Balance of measurements, all approximate:

Crown height: At high side, 6 3/4"; at low side, 6 1/4"
Front to back at inner band: 7 1/4"
Side to side at inner band: 6 1/4"
Brim height: At most shallow, 1 1/4"; at deepest, 2 1/4"

CONDITION: Excellent. There is a very faint bit of discoloration on the crown interior at the back, barely noticeable (wouldn't show up in photos) and a small, faint spot on the exterior. Very hard to find; I didn't notice it before and will spot clean.
