GARFINCKEL’S Red Dress 100% Silk Shift Snap Back Closure Size 16 Vintage

Garfinckel's was a prominent department store chain based in Washington, D.C. that catered to a clientele of wealthy consumers. Its flagship store at 14th and F in the city's F Street shopping district is listed on the National Register. It filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June 1990 and ceased operations that year.

This beautiful unlined dress is 100% silk, and has the feeling of linen or raw silk. It features full snap closure in the back, shoulder pads, and two slip front pockets. Size tag is 16 but bear in mind this is vintage so please consider these approx measurements, 26” underarm to underarm, 23” across waist, 22” across bottom, 42” long. Gently worn with no apparent flaws.
