This purple polyester 70s maxi evening dress has flashy, Elvis-worthy rhinestone trim on its large pointed collar and pointed waist seam. The shape of the deep V-neckline echoes the shapes of the pointed collar and the waist seam—a nice design detail. The bodice is fitted with vertical bust darts in front. The waist seam, high under the bust in front, dips back down to the natural waist in back. The skirt is quite full, flaring out from waist to hem. The dress fastens with a metal zipper in back. The non-stretchy, medium-weight polyester is lined in the bodice area only with orchid acetate taffeta, which has faded at the underarms. The dress has been cleaned and has no odors; the lining fading will only be visible from the under side, not when it is worn. This fabulous early 1970s maxi dress is in very good condition, with no other issues to note.
