Kay Hazard and her husband relocated from California to Hawaii after a long holiday there in the late 1960's - to leave the 'rat race' and start up a new business. Their shirt/muumuu factory known as "Kay O' Kauai" was established on Kauai in 1967. All garments were sewn to order and "no two of Kay's creations are the same!". The couple had outlet shops at the Poipu Beach and the Coco Palms Hotel. Fun Fact: The Coco Palms hotel was a primary location for the filming of Elvis Presley's "Blue Hawaii". Looking at images from that film the mu`umu`u dresses similar to this one play a key roll!
