This vintage Geoffrey Beene coat is circa the late 1970s and features a bold collar, single button closure look with menswear undertones. Collared neckline, full acetate lining, and long calf length. Side pockets at the hips, faux flap pockets on front. Swing style. A very classic, timeless coat in amazing condition. The wool is very heavy and finely woven, making for a superb cold weather coat. The owner of this coat lived in New England, and needed to stay warm against harsh windchills and snow. Definitely a sturdy piece! No sizing, see measurements.
Bust measures 38", shoulder 14. 75", hip 48", length 41". Please remember to leave room for bulky clothing beneath the coat. I found the sleeves on this to be tighter on my size L frame, recommend for M or smaller.
This coat was originally owned by Andrea W. of Greenfield NH, who once said that "Denim was the worst thing that ever happened to fashion." She collected a stunning collection of designer pieces through her life, filling up armories and closets with her excellent taste through the years. Andrea loved travel, collected straw hats, and knew a good fabric when she saw one. I will be adding more of her wonderful pieces to my shop throughout the year.
