This is a 1970s Vera Maxwell designer dress and matching cropped jacket in navy blue silk or silk blend tweed. The dress features a wonderful herringbone woven trim at the neckline and along the princess seams of the bodice. The skirt of the dress has soft gathers on each side and slit pockets in front. There is a vent in the back at the hem. It is fully lined with silk.
The jacket has the same trim along the collar and covering the three decorative buttons at the waist. It is fully lined with silk.
This is an exceptional ensemble by one of the founders of the American "Look", along with Cashin and McCardell.
