Feel like the special person you are, in this vintage 70's Brenner Couture gown...

This lively maxi dress or gown, is a fabulous hostess gown-style piece by Eleanor Brenner for Eleanor Brenner Couture. Eleanor Brenner got her start in the mid-1950's, designing clothing for petite clients, which were sold at Henri Bendel's and other major department stores. In 1977, Joan Mondale, wore a Brenner Couture design to her husband, Walter Mondale's swearing-in as Vice President of the United States.
This dress features a soft silk jersey bodice, with full length sleeves, rushed turtleneck, and self-covered faux button-up front. The full length, or maxi skirt, is also made of silk: a lightweight and supple taffeta, in blues and yellow plaid pattern (and a lovely sheen!). The waist has a self-fabric taffeta sash-style belt that secures with two sets of snaps. The center back features a nylon zipper closure and the skirt is lined with a lightweight, sheer silk. This all-silk dress is such a nice alternative to the polyester and synthetic fabric designs the time (even the label is pure silk!!). Overall condition is excellent to nearly mint, with one super light/mild and unnoticeable spot at back center skirt. Please review photographs for full details.
