Oh ehm gee willikers, is this a special bag!! I truly thought about keeping it just because I know I will probably never see another like it, but my husband reminded me that I can't keep every bag that I love, otherwise I'd have nothing in my shop. This Watermelon Satchel was made prior to the implementation of the iconic Coach creed, and has simply a Coach stamp on the inside; it was made between the 1960's and the 1970's in the original Coach factory. I have seen these satchels in leather previously, but never ever in reverse suede! If you are looking to make a true handbag statement, this purse is a must have.

Fantastic vintage condition, now. This poor satchel had lived a lifetime or two before coming to me. Because it is so old, I had to think long and hard about how to best refurbish it. Fully bathing it was out of the question, so I cleaned it gently with PH balanced suede cleaner and PH balanced leather cleaner and conditioner to not only preserve the moisture in the hide but to add to it. I brushed the suede and conditioned the handles and piping and had a rip repaired to the inside slip pocket. The process, while slow, added years to it, it really impressed me! There is a very minor unrolled edge on the inside top of one of the handles that I have shown in a closeup, but other than that, this gorgeous satchel has another lifetime at least in it.
