This appears to be a hand-made dress, possibly made for a formal event in the late 1970s. Based on what we know about the owner, she was a seamstress and made a lot of her own clothes. This gem was unearthed from her closet - it's too small to fit on my modern day mannequin. The fabric is like a heavy satin. It's terribly wrinkled with a faint odor of mothballs but I wasn't about to wash or iron this.

The waist to hem measurement is 28 inches.
The lay flat waist measures 14 inches.
The shoulder to sleeve cuff measures 13 inches.
The pit to pit measures at 16.5 inches.

There are some condition issues with loose stitches and some dark marks as show in the photos.
