A piece of fashion history from American designer James Galanos. This 1970's maxi dress is a gorgeous piece representative of the GALANOS aesthetic. James Galanos started selling collaborating with the high end boutique Amelia Gray in Beverly Hills (open since 1951). This dress would have been part of a collection for the boutique in the 1970's. The dress bodice is constructed from a silk jersey fabric with gorgeous balloon sleeves. The bodice frontback is an abstract print in bold red, purple, black and moss green.

The waist band is where the fabric transitions with pintuck details into a heavier black silk taffeta fabric. The interior has a grosgrain waist stay.

*Note: Tiny areas on the on the bodice where there are tiny piling, barely noticeable due to the printcolor. Reflected in price.
