This necklace is large and gaudy. It is a bright gold plated metal. The peanut chain is textured and is 17 inches. The pendant is ridiculous! The faux turquoise cabochon is thermoplastic and measures 1 x .75 inches and set in a detailed open work setting. The seven 2 inch chains hanging from it are a detailed book chain style with .25 inch teardrops hanging from them are also a solid thermoplastic. The detailed bar with cabochon is also a brooch with a 1.5 inch roll over safety clasp pin on back.

This metal necklace is circa 1970 and made by a high end costume jewelry maker of the time. The first half of the 20th century was the heyday for well made costume jewelry sold from fine department stores to Woolworth, usually made in Europe or the United States. The manufacture and quality of costume jewelry deteriorated in the latter part of the century making this era the last with enduring products.
