These circa 1970 cuff links are a standard size measuring .75 x 5/8 inch. The black and white enamel is in excellent condition. They are in a typical Spanish Damascene style and design. Even the swivels have great detail.

Vintage Damascene jewelry was made between 1930 and 1970. It is still made today, but the contemporary craftsmanship is easily distinguished from the old pieces. Japanese Damascene was made by oxidizing metal, hence the black background, then adding gold or silver foil to the etched design. In Spanish Damascene, the metal has been textured and the black color is created by enamel being added.
