This black velvet opera coat is a "duster" or "clutch" style swing coat with no closure. It features a high collar that is thickly pleated at the back of the neck to create lovely draping around the neck line and down the upper lapels. It's also nice and full with raglan sleeves and besom pockets. It's not quite full length, but a little longer that what I think of as "midi." Dating the coat is difficult. It's clearly vintage and could be as old as the 1960s or '70s. However, there are remnants of two labels once attached to the designer label - probably a size label, and maybe even a fabric label - and these were not universal until the mid-1980s. So who knows! The fabric seems to be synthetic blend velvet. Since there is no size label, we are using sizing charts to estimate that the coat is a OSFM from M-XL. Please refer to the measurements for the best guidance regarding actual size.*
