House of Bianchi opened in 1949, becoming a well known & respected designer of wedding and formal wear dresses in Boston. Business boomed in the 50s, 60s & 70s, seeing custom couture wedding dresses made for the likes of royalty such as Grace Kelly, celebrities & Presidents wives. The hugely successful, Princess Bridal, offered well made, more mass produced, off the rack options. Still a bustling business in the 80s, the business suddenly started changing hands in the 90s, and although business appeared to be good, they suddenly closed in 2001, literally disappearing overnight, leaving customers without finished dresses, broken promises & with no real explanation or refunds, beyond blaming the economy.
