Unique ensemble from Valentino Boutique consists of a harlequin patterned top and a green circle skirt. The top has a flattering, two-layer silk taffeta flounce with a drawstring around the neck. The cuffs have the same two-layer silk taffeta flounces with zippers at the wrists. The top's drawstring waist creates a peplum that covers the hips. It is woven in an argyle pattern in shades of green, teal, and purple. It also has a green silk lining and a hemchain in back. The solid green skirt is fitted to the hips and then flares out creating a circle skirt below the hips. There are no fabric tags (these were not required by law until the mid-1980s). However, the skirt appears to be wool, and the top appears to be a wool blend with silk taffeta trim. We are dating this outfit to the late 1970s or early 1980s. Both pieces are labeled size 6, but these are vintage pieces and run smaller than a a modern size 6. Based on sizing charts, they appear to be modern sizes 2-4. Please refer to the measurements for the best guidance regarding actual size.

CONDITION
The top is in good condition structurally with three very small holes that are very difficult to see and are in inconspicuous locations. The rolled edges of the taffeta cuffs have come unstitched in places on the left cuff; this is a simple repair. The skirt appears to have been professionally shortened. We've priced this outfit according to its condition, making it a great way to add a very wearable top tier designer to you vintage collection for a bargain price!
