AMAZING PIECE OF FASHION HISTORY! Fascinating history about MIRIAM MARSHALL:[She started behind the counter at Bergdorfs selling high-end bags in the 1950s. By the 1960s she had her own counter right in the middle of Bergdorfs, selling her fabulous architectural bags..Her mentors were Stanley Marcus of Neiman Marcus and Gerry Stutz, president of Henri Bendels. She traveled the world for components and inspiration - there are vintage bags out there fashioned after middle Eastern Art Deco architecture and the Empire State Building!.Her work was featured in both Bergdorf Goodman's and Neiman Marcus along with many many others. She went on to design the jewelry for the Broadway production of "Rex", eventually reproducing those elaborate designs for the public.] --- Interview, The Vintage Purse Museum.Examples of her work can be seen at.THE VINTAGE PURSE MUSEUM, located in Arizona, which I cannot BELIEVE I have not been to yet!!😬😬😬.This is a late 1970s/early 1980s hard shell Peanut bag in Indigo Blue LUCITE with "tie-dyed" streaks.
