Pauline Trigere's women’s black, wool dress.
Known as the 'chanel of America's the French born Pauline Trigere wanted to be a surgeon. Instead, she applied his skill to magnificent trademark understated tailoring.
This iconic piece is embelematic of her precise elegance. Lined in hand stitched silk with an unique collar swath, every detail is impeccable.
Her design house continues to produce some of the most well crafted fashion on the planet. She was the first American designer to hire Beverly Valdes, a gorgeous black lady as her house model. Her response to the blow back of retailers canceling orders? "We won't miss them."
