This sculptural leather belt is the definition of wearable art! It was previously owned by a model who collected art during her travels. She acquired this piece in the 1970's in Barcelona from a leather artisan. The artist would first create wooden molds and then sculpt both wearable leather pieces as well as decorative leather pieces with the wooden molds. This is a wrap around belt so it is versatile in how you style it. It has a thick front portion which can adjust through two sliding side holes and the ends are rather thin, making it easy to bend and move while wearing. If you look closely the artist sculpted a modern, abstract face portrait into the front panel! The leather is a rich, medium town brown with a high gloss finish. Dress it up or dress it down - it will be a unique statement piece regardless!
