Mollie Parnis began her career in the 1920s as a designer for David Westheim but by the 40s was designing under her own name. She started dressing First Ladies with Mamie Eisenhower in the 1950s and continued in the 60s with Lady Bird Johnson and Pat Nixon. In the 1970s she continued her association with the White House, dressing Betty Ford and Rosalynn Carter.
