These classic men’s “apron-toe” dress shoes by Freeman date from circa the late 1960s to late 1970s, and are made of shiny black leather. The shoes have leather uppers, lining, and soles, with rubber heels. The toes are slightly squared, beyond the raised /stitched line that gives them their “apron-toe” description. They lace-up with waxed laces, and are labeled a size 11C. Still in their original box, these true vintage black leather dress shoes are in pristine condition. What appears like scuffs in our photos are actually reflections—they are mint!
Freeman was known for making good quality, comfortable, mid-priced shoes, through at least the 1980s. The company was headquartered in Beloit, Wisconsin. Until US Shoe Corporation bought them in 1966, they were family-owned. So this pair of shoes likely dates to between the end of the 1960s (after the company was purchased), and the late 1970s. The style is a true classic, so a bit hard to date, but the box looks circa 1970s, to me.
