The scales of the mesh are silky smooth to the touch and the belt articulates perfectly around the waist. It can be paired with everyday casual looks or used as the perfect evening wear accessory. The backside of the buckle has the Whiting and Davis markings and it adjusts to fit waists that range from 26" - 30".
About Whiting and Davis:
The company was founded in 1876. In 1892 they designed the first mesh bag and by 1912 a machine was invented to automate the mesh making process. In the 20's W & D’s high quality purses were the coveted accessory of flappers, actresses & well dressed women everywhere. They became the world’s leading mesh handbag manufacturer. During World War II, a shortage of raw materials lead them to temporarily stop production and turn attention to supporting the war effort by manufacturing radar equipment. At the close of the war they began production again. And in the 70's their “soft, sensuous & slithery" accessories were the perfect glittering accessories for a decade spent writhing under disco balls to Donna Summer and ABBA.
