70’s Brown White Scoop Neck Maxi Dress$48.00
What a great 70's dress! Brown and white brushstroke/abstract stripe pattern on a super stretchy polyester (helloooo, 1970's!) fabric with ties in the front and back. Empire waistband sits right below the bust.
Back zip closure. Looks like it may have had a hook and eye as well, but they are no longer there.
No tags to indicate maker or fabric, but this is definitely a polyester blend, there is a LOT of stretch. The only tags state "Size 10" (keep in mind, this is a 1970's size 10), and "machine wash warm, line or tumble dry."
We all love a garment that is easy to take care of, right?
This dress is in very good to excellent vintage condition!! I could find no major tears, holes, stains or other problems. The only issues I found are at the armpits - looks like someone either altered or repaired them. This is not a big deal, and does not affect the wearability of the dress at all. She is close to 50 years old, so she's held up well!
Even though there is quite a bit of stretch, there is minimal to NO stretch in the waistband. It does have an empire waist, so the band sits high, right under the bust.
Also, the tie in the back and two ties in the front allow for extra cup room.
Measurements taken lying flat:
